Quilts from Great Aunt Marcyes

Our girls each received a beautiful quilt from their Great Aunt Marcyes. Here they are with the quilts in the living room.

A visit from Dave and Sarah

Esther had visitors from Indiana. She enjoyed a full day out on the town. We stopped at the new observation tower at the De Young Museum, she saw a giant arial photograph of San Francisco, we went to a lighthouse at the opening of the Golden Gate, we went to a high spot in the Marin Headlands and looked back at the city, and we went to Muir Woods for some hiking and playing in the big Redwood trees. Thanks go to Tyson for all the nice pictures.

A Mother's Day gift

For Mother's Day the girls decided to give their mother a very special gift. They organized their schedules so that at least one of them was up to keep Mom company for each of the 24 hours of this very special day. Apparently one can have too much of a good thing.

This is how Esther asks if she can hold her sister. This posture comes with something that sounds like 'Uhhh?'.

Now that spring football is over, we are making sure Esther is prepared for the upcoming season of Purdue football.

Mt. Diablo

Last Monday we took the family on our first hiking trip. We drove to the top of Mt. Diablo (~3950 ft) and 'hiked' the final 30 or so steps up to the observation deck.

Esther likes to hold Beatrice. She hugs her and pats her back. Also, it seems Esther prefers the name "Deah!" to Beatrice.
